Willis & Jurasek Expands to Grand Rapids

We are excited to announce that we have opened an office in Grand Rapids by acquiring the existing Grand Rapids firm of VandenToorn & Associates LLC.

VandenToorn & Associates is a firm we have known of and worked with on occasion over the years, and when the opportunity to acquire them suddenly came up, we knew it was too good to pass up. Rick Schefferly will be in charge of the Grand Rapids office, but thanks to technology, and especially paperless office capabilities, we can remotely manage the Grand Rapids office. Michael Bannasch will also be closely involved with the operation of the Grand Rapids office.

VandenToorn & Associates has been in existence since 1991 and has a staff of three CPAs, two CPA candidates, and one office manager. The previous owner, Todd VandenToorn, built a firm that worked very well for him, and he and his staff established great relationships with many clients. We look to expand those relationships, offer services they currently don’t offer such as audits and business valuations, and grow the firm’s market share in Grand Rapids and the surrounding area.

The VandenToorn & Associates name will be phased out over the next several months, with the expanded firm continuing as Willis & Jurasek, P.C. At this time, there are no plans for accountants at either office to relocate, but accountants from the Jackson office will travel to Grand Rapids generally twice a week to service clients in that area.

For our Jackson clients, if you have any business associates in the Grand Rapids area, we would appreciate any referrals you can provide us in that market.
